The
Billerica Board of Health will meet Monday evening, September 8th, at
7:30 PM. Two power plant-related items are on the agenda including
discussion of a letter from the Billerica Conservation Commission and a
letter from the Tewksbury Board of Health. The meeting is at Billerica
Town Hall, at 365 Boston Road, Billerica, MA
Billerica has a
new town manager. Mr. William F. Williams. Hopefully Mr. Williams will
be interested in the concerns residents have regarding the power plant
proposal. He can be reached via e-mail at smichelini@town.billerica.ma.us.
As
candidates weigh in on different issues during the upcoming election
season, voters should consider the candidates' positions on issues of
concern to them at the state and local levels. Your voice matters and
constituents should take every opportunity to contact their candidates
of choice to express their views. There are two specific races of
interest at the state level: incumbent State Representative Bill Greene
versus Jim O'Donnell (current Billerica Selectmen), and Ken Donnelly
versus Jack Hurd for Senator Jim Marzilli's seat.
In other
power plant news, the towns surrounding the site of the proposed
Brockton power plant continue to express their strong opposition, much
like those in Lowell, Chelmsford, Tewksbury, and other neighboring
communities around the proposed site of the Billerica power plant.
