Get Involved

by Jody Nelson last modified May 04, 2008 11:01 PM

Citizen involvement can be as simple as letting officials know how you feel about growth in town or signing up for alerts.   Click here to get activist alerts

We welcome suggestions or information about issues that effect Chelmsford's future and quality of life for its residents.  Click here to send us your ideas!

 Things you can do:

  • Contact your town meeting representatives to let him/her know you do not support the sale of town land to address short-term budget deficits, build affordable housing or any sort of developments.
  • Some selectmen have indicated they are concerned about liability issues surrounding town owned land. Let them know you do not favor divesting town owned land unless it is to put it into a conservation trust.
  • Talk with your neighbors and friends about the Slow Growth Initiative's petition and forward signed copies to us immediately.
  • If you oppose continued 40B developments, contact www.repeal40B.com to become active in repealing the law.

Contact us if you are interested in detailed updates or involvement with activities related to the following:

  • Local Initiative Process (LIP) review
  • Chapter 70 and school fundraising issues
  • Participation in the Slow Growth Initiative's petition drive
  • Helping to organize a community forum
